Core Credits: The specific core courses required for each program are listed in the respective program description. Any request for a course substitution will be evaluated to determine if the proposed substitute course meets program requirements. A minimum of 33 core credits must be earned at New Pilgrim for any doctoral degree. The number of core credits required varies per program. The Doctor of Religious Studies degree requires 42 core credits, the Doctor of Ministry degree requires 36 core credits, and the Doctor of Arts degree requires 54 core credits. Doctoral students have the following options to satisfy core credits above the 33 credit hour minimum to be earned at New Pilgrim. 1.) Transfer credits (grades of “B” or higher) validated for core credits must be from an approved school and must satisfy the requirements of the core program. 2.) New Pilgrim course work.
